As former Co-founder and Co-owner of Mollie Stone’s Markets and almost 30 years of experience, David’s knowledge and focus are in emerging brands, strategizing, positioning and maximizing shelf space, driving supermarket sales, end displays and side stacks in all departments from dry grocery, produce, dairy, frozen, service deli, meats, seafood, and poultry. In addition, he has a concentrated background in private label brands, P&L management, procurement, advertising, distribution, store management, and supermarket technology.
As a former- hands-on operator for almost 30 years, David is well aware of today’s challenges facing all emerging brands trying to gain market share. He has traveled throughout the United States and internationally to supermarkets, dairy plants, deli, pork, and chicken processing plants in continuing his education of this industry.
Today, you will find him lecturing at various colleges and advising start-up companies by implementing strategies and creating a road map of expansion plans.
David has served on the Board of Directors of California Grocers Association. He was also elected to the Board of Directors of Unified Grocers, a multi-billion Dollar S.E.C. reporting company, prior to Unified Grocers being purchased by SuperValu, where he served on the finance, compensation, search and membership committees.
